Just recently, as of December 10th actually, I've had a custom surfboard on order from Mike Walker of thewalkerproject.com.
Wednesday, January 10th, I recieved my new customized X3. I picked the board up at his shop in Vista and had a chance to chat with Mike Walker one on one. (When I ordered my board, I was with my friend Chris Walker [no relation], who prepped me for the most in depth conversation I've ever had about where I wanted my surfing to go, and had a relaxed time ordering the board.)
The waves have been down, I've been working like a slave, and it's Sunday, January 14th, and I haven't been able to stop staring at my new custom board. It's everything for which I've been waiting. 6/5. 19.75 Wide, 2.65 Thick, FCS fins, Green Rails, on a single concave thruster model.
I'm so excited to surf this custom board. It feels right, it looks right, and I'm ready (stomp pad, new leash, and board bag to boot) to rock this board in any surf this ocean can throw at me.
If you are interested in ordering a custom surfboard something new, something fresh, from a shaper that truly believes "surfing comes first," drop me a line. I'd love to show you what I've found.
